2020 Colors of the Year Celebrate Nature in Design
Colors tell a story. They set moods and change emotions. They create conversations and even serve as a form of communication. For brands, colors can add personality and consciously cause a reaction. In architecture, the right color can help your project stand out while reinforcing your identity.
Leading the way in all things color is Pantone, which releases its "Color of the Year" as a trendsetting concept for branding and inspiration. For 2020, Pantone selected Classic Blue, a “solid and dependable hue we can always rely on,” according to Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute. This color - simple yet indicative of opulent and tranquil spaces - continues a tradition of celebrated Pantone selections that call to an appreciation of color in nature.
Striking Colors Inspire Comfort and Beauty in Design
In the twenty years Pantone has promoted a Color of the Year, other companies have followed suit. This year Sherwin-Williams selected Naval, a deep shade similar to our OLV Blue. Behr’s color for 2020, Back to Nature, resembles our HBG Green finish. Both hues, while distinct from each other, encourage architectural visions rooted in a natural environment.
