DIESEL Denim Gallery Installation by Office of Kimihiko Okada

DIESEL Denim Gallery Installation
Office of Kimihiko Okada
Aoyama, Tokyo
Completion: 2008

Office of Kimihiko Okada created an exhibition for the DIESEL Denim Gallery in 2008. The installation was created to express the multifaceted nature of the DIESEL brand and was constructed entirely of fine pieces of metal. The manifestation of a cave was created as the structures cascaded down from the ceiling above. The purpose of the cave-like experience was to embody the idea that the DIESEL brand is futuristic or otherworldly.

Mariko Naito, of Komorebi Design, created the lighting fixtures featured on the floor of the gallery. The fixtures illuminate the metal structure above to amplify what Okada refers to as, “…detail like that of the geometry that appears in crystal.”
